With its core back from last season’s team that finished third at the state tournament, the Zillah boys basketball team is ranked No. 1 in the VarstityWA debut rankings.

The Leopards are joined in the Class 1A top 10 by Royal, which won the district championship and took fifth at state, and Cashmere. The Knights and Bulldogs are fourth and eighth, respectively.

Two-time defending CBBN district champion West Valley, which was fifth at state, is fourth in the 4A rankings.

Selah, also fifth at state last March in the Yakima Valley SunDome, is third in 2A.
