Class 4A defending champion Davis, with its top seven scorers back, is ranked No. 1 in VarsityWA’s debut poll.

Led by juniors Cheyenne Hull, the reigning player of the year, Isa Garcia, Averie Brandt and Kobe Johnson, along with senior and Eastern Washington signee Deets Parrish, Akil White’s squad opened the season with an 81-32 victory Wednesday at Kamiakin.

The CWAC is well-represented in the 2A poll. Prosser and Ellensburg are fourth and fifth, respectively, while Selah is seventh and Grandview eighth.

Zillah ranks second in the 1A poll and is joined in the poll by SCAC rival Cashmere, which is eighth,
