After two weeks of play, it's time to get into the prediction business.

Stat Hound is ready to show that it's the expert ... or, more likely, can make educated guesses fairly well.

This week, there’s no better place to start than with Prosser’s visit to Earl Barden Field where the Mustangs, ranked seventh in the Varsity WA state poll, meet No. 6 East Valley. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The game starts a three-game stretch for the Red Devils in which they’ll meet three of the top teams in the CWAC. After this one, EV travels to Ephrata before hosting reigning league champ Othello on Oct. 3.

A season ago, Prosser edged the Red Devils 36-35 at Art Fiker Stadium. The sting of that loss has hardly faded for EV coach Eric Berg and his crew.

“We’re looking forward to (the stretch), especially this game after losing by one down there in a shootout,” he said. “We knew this was the gauntlet. We’re confident and we’re excited for our

first home game.”

Stat Hound says: East Valley 30, Prosser 16.

CWAC
Ellensburg (0-2) at Ephrata (1-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Tigers bounced back from a 14-13 loss at Prosser in Week 1, while Ellensburg is still trying to get its offensive footing.

Stat Hound says: Ephrata 41, Ellensburg 12.

Othello (2-0) at Grandview (0-2), 7 p.m. Fiday

Foretelling tale: The Huskies have rolled in their first two games, and will try to avoid a letdown with

Selah and East Valley waiting after this one.

Stat Hound says: Othello 48, Grandview 13.

Quincy (0-2) at Toppenish (1-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Wildcats are wounded after senior quarterback Jason Sanchez last week left the field in an ambulance. Still, they have weapons without their regular QB.

Stat Hound says: Toppenish 20, Quincy 7.

West Valley (1-1) at Selah (2-0), 7 p.m.

Foretelling tale: The Mid-Valley rivals of yesteryear meet with the Viks having rolled in their first two games. The Rams might be a little dinged up.

Stat Hound says: Selah 20, West Valley 18.

CBBN

Davis (1-1) at Eastmont (0-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Wildcats cranked up the ground game last week in their debut, racking up more than 300 rushing yards, while the Pirates have been more air-oriented.

Stat Hound says: Eastmont 27, Davis 13.

Wenatchee (1-1) at Eisenhower (0-2), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Panthers fell in coach Taylor Mitchell’s return to Mount Si, his alma mater, but they should bounce back against the Cadets, who haven’t mustered a great deal of offense.

Stat Hound says: Wenatchee 37, Eisenhower 7.

Sunnyside (0-2) at Moses Lake (2-0), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: Mavs’ QB Brady Jay already has thrown for darn near 1,000 yards. It’s now the Grizzlies turn to see if they can slow the Montana-bound slinger.

Stat Hound says: Moses Lake 44, Sunnyside 23.

SCAC

College Place (0-2) at Cashmere (2-0), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: Cashmere hasn’t given up a point this season, while the Hawks are left cursing the

schedulers, who gave them the Bulldogs after hosting Royal. That’s just cruel.

Stat Hound says: Cashmere 62, College Place 0.

Kiona-Benton (0-2) at Wahluke (0-2), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Bears had the misfortune of opening against Cashmere and Royal, while the

Warrios have dropped two narrowly.

Stat Hound says: Wahluke 22, Kiona-Benton 19.

Connell (0-2) at Royal (2-0), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: Zillah, Othello and Royal to open the season? At least the Eagles don’t face Cashmere for a month.

Stat Hound says: Royal 52, Connell 12.

Wapato (1-1) at Zillah (2-0), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: The Leopards sophomore-heavy attack got rolling against Naches Valley, while the Wolves eked past Wahluke.

Stat Hound says: Zillah 37, Wapato 13.

Cascade (Leavenworth) (1-1) at Naches Valley (1-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Foretelling tale: Kodiaks cruised in this matchup last year, but the Rangers seem to be in a better place this time. Will that be enough?

Stat Hound says: Cascade 23, Naches 16.
