Week 5 brings showdowns in the CWAC and SCAC that will go a long way – if not decide – the conference champion.

In the CWAC, it’s defending champion Othello visiting East Valley, and in the SCAC, top-ranked Royal – the winners of five straight 1A championships and 39 games in a row – entertains Cashmere.

Othello at East Valley

Foretelling tale: The senior-heavy Red Devils have been looking forward to this season and this game is the key in their first conference title since 2004.

Foretelling tale: Mustangs are still on pace to return to the Class 2A state playoffs, while Quincy tries to maintain momentum after first victory of the season.

Foretelling tale: Both teams are in contention for a top-four spot in the conference and a potential Round of 32 game.

Foretelling tale: Both teams have been dominant this season, so it could very well come down to which makes the mistake(s) and how the other takes advantage.
