Week 6 football forecast: Playoff push ramps up
After pair of showdowns, conferences settle in for postseason positioning

It was another one-loss week for the Stat Hound, a perfect record spoiled by Wapato edging College Place. A not-too-shabby 34-3 record is what the old dog is clinging to.
Week 6 starts with a doozy of a nonleaguer Thursday night as top-ranked and five-time Class 1A defending champion Royal. The Knights escaped last week’s SCAC donnybrook with second-ranked
Cashmere 21-15 in overtime at David Nielsen Field.
Week 5’s other big showdown – Othello visiting Earl Barden Field to face East Valley – turned into Red Devil barrage with the home team scoring 33 points in the second quarter to coast to a 36-13 victory.
While this week might not have the heavyweight bouts, there are several games that will factor into postseason berths.
On to the picks …

7 p.m. Friday

Zillah at Cashmere
7 p.m. Friday

Nonleague
Moses Lake at Post Falls, Idaho

Stat Hound says: Moses Lake 41, Post Falls 13.
SCAC
Wahluke at College Place
