Moses Lake, East Valley continue unbeaten ways

Mavericks, Red Devils closing in on conference championships

POST FALLS, Idaho – Moses Lake quarterback Brady Jay tossed six touchdowns helping the seventh-ranked Mavericks improve to 6-0 with a 42-7 nonleague victory at Post Falls on Friday night.

Carter Anderson hauled in four touchdown passes for Moses Lake while Grant Smith and Tyce Miller each had one. Jay now has thrown 41 touchdowns this season.

The Mavericks (3-0 conference) visit Eastmont next Friday, with both teams owning perfect CBBN records.

EASTMONT 69, EISENHOWER 6: At Yakima, the Wildcats improved to 4-0 in conference play with their fourth straight victory. Eastmont (4-1 overall) hosts Moses Lake next Friday in a matchup that has decided the last two conference championships.


SUNNYSIDE 42, DAVIS 14: At Sunnyside, the Grizzlies have back-to-back games after a rugged four games to start the season. After a bye, Sunnyside (2-2 CBBN, 2-4 overall) heads to Wenatchee on Oct. 24. The Pirates (0-3, 1-2) entertain the Panthers next Friday.


WENATCHEE 51, WEST VALLEY 33: At Wenatchee, the Panthers rebounded from a close loss to crosstown rival Eastmont, improving to 2-2 in conference and 3-3 overall. West Valley fell to 1-2, 2-4.

EAST VALLEY 56, TOPPENISH 6: At Toppenish, Jaxon Berg tossed five touchdowns, three of them to Montana State-bound Greyson Stevens, and Braden Albrecht rushed for three scores as the fifth-ranked Red Devils improved to 5-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall. East Valley hosts Selah next Friday, while the Wildcats (3-2 CWAC, 3-3 overall) visits Ephrata.


ELLENSBURG 28, QUINCY 14: At Ellensburg, Liam Ewen rushed for three touchdowns and Wyatt Winston added another scoring run the Bulldogs, who won for the second straight week to improve to 2-4 in conference and overall. The Jackrabbits fell to 0-5 in CWAC play and 1-5 overall.


OTHELLO 33, EPHRATA 21: At Othello, the Huskies topped the Tigers to improve 4-1 in conference and 5-1 overall ahead of a trip to Prosser next weekend for a matchup that will likely decide second place in the CWAC. Ephrata fell to 2-3 in conference and 3-3 overall.


SELAH 40, GRANDVIEW 0: At Grandview, the Vikings posted their third shutout of the season, improving to 4-1 in conference and 5-1 overall. Grandview is 0-6 in the CWAC and overall.

CASHMERE 35, ZILLAH 6: At Cashmere, the second-ranked Bulldogs bounced back from their first loss of the season by handling the Leopards in front of a Homecoming crowd in a matchup that likely decided second place in the SCAC. Cashmere improved to 5-1 in conference and overall, while Zillah fell to 4-2 in CWAC play and for the season.


CONNELL 69, KIONA-BENTON 6: At Connell, the Eagles soared to their third straight victory, outscoring their opponents 191- 41 in the stretch. Connell (3-2 conference, 3-3 overall) hosts Cashmere next week, while Kiona-Benton fell to 0-6 in the SCAC and overall.


NACHES VALLEY 27, WAPATO 6: At Wapato, the Rangers (3-2 conference, 4-2 overall) won for the fourth time after going winless last fall. The Wolves fell to 2-3 SCAC, 2-4 overall.
