ELLENSBURG – Ellensburg, ranked third in Class 2A, swept the 4A state hopeful Davis on Saturday in nonleague volleyball action 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.

It’s another victory in a robust nonconference schedule for the Bulldogs, runners-up in state a year ago. Ellensburg has beaten the Big Nine’s West Valley and Davis, perennial 2A state contender Burlington-Edison, pushed unbeaten three-time defending 1A champion Chelan to a fifth set, and had a strong showing at the SunDome Volleyball Festival.

The Bulldogs will play two-time defending CBBN champ and 2023 4A titlist Wenatchee on Thursday.

EAST VALLEY 3, CLE ELUM 1: At Cle Elum, the Red Devils rallied after dropping the first set to win the nonleague match 21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

ZILLAH 3, WAHLUKE 0: At Mattawa, the Leopards swept the Warriors for the second time this season to remain in sole possession of second place.

CONNELL 3, COLLEGE PLACE 1: At Connell, the Eagles topped the Hawks to stay within a game od second-place Zillah.

CASHMERE 3, WAPATO 0: At Cashmere, the third-ranked Bulldogs remained unbeaten in conference play and haven’t dropped a set along the way.

ROYAL 3, NACHES VALLEY 1: At Naches, the Knights posted the road win to complete a season sweep of the Rangers.

WENATCHEE 8, DAVIS 0: At Wenatchee, the Panthers rolled to stay unbeaten in conference play.

EISENHOWER 1, EASTMONT 0: At Yakima, the Cadets topped the Wildcats to move into a three-way tie for second place with Eastmont and Moses Lake.

MOSES LAKE 2, SUNNYSIDE 1: At Sunnyside, the Mavericks notched the road victory to catch the Wildcats and forge a three-way tie behind Wenatchee.

PROSSER 4, ELLENSBURG 0: At Prosser, Arianna Martin scored twice as the Mustangs moved into a third-place tie with the Bulldogs.

EAST VALLEY 2, EPHRATA 1: At Yakima, Mia Garcia and Ariana Lopez each had a goal and the Red Devils held off the Tigers and moved within a half game of East Valley for the conference’s top spot. 

QUINCY 1, OTHELLO 0: At Othello, Brielle Baughman scored the match’s lone goal to lift the Jackrabbits to the victory.
