Week 7 football forecast: CBBN title on the line

Can Eastmont slow Jay-led Mavericks? Also, key matchups in CWAC

After a relatively quiet weekend in the Stat Hound footprint, things heat up again this early autumn Friday with several key matchups.

Eastmont hosts Moses Lake in a matchup that will all but wrap up the CBBN regular season championship for the winner. The game between the Wildcats and the Mavericks has decided the conference the past two years, although neither of the matchups were close.

Two seasons ago, the Eastmont defense intercepted then-sophomore Brady Jay four time en route to a 35-8 victory. In 2024, it was the Mavs defense that stole the show, limiting the Wildcats to 138 yards and forcing three turnovers in the 40-0 victory.

In the CWAC, East Valley’s march toward its first championship since 2004 meets 5-1 Selah. The 6-0 Red Devils haven’t been slowed since battling past Prosser 13-7.

Also, Othello travels to Prosser in a matchup likely for second place in the CWAC.

A 13-0 mark pushed the record to 47-3.
