WENATCHEE – In a matchup of the third-ranked teams in their respective classifications, Wenatchee topped Ellensburg in nonleague volleyball action.

The Panthers, who are looking to finish unbeaten in the CBBN for the third straight year, beat the Bulldogs 25-21, 25-14, 25-18.

Wenatchee was third at the 4A state tournament a year ago after winning the title in 2023. 

Ellensburg, which faces fifth-ranked Selah on Tuesday in pursuit of its fourth straight unbeaten run through the CWAC, was the runner-up in the 2A tournament last November.

MOSES LAKE 3, WEST VALLEY 0: At Yakima, the Mavericks (4-5) moved to within half a game of the Rams (4-4) with the road victory.

SELAH 3, QUINCY 0: At Selah, the fifth-ranked Vikings (6-0) tuned up for Tuesday's showdown with No. 3 Ellensburg with the sweep of the Jackrabbits (0-6).

EAST VALLEY 3, TOPPENISH 2: At Yakima, the Red Devils (3-3) battled past the Wildcats (2-5) 25-16, 25-23, 13-25, 24-26, 18-16 to keep hold of fourth place in the standings.

Grandview at Prosser, suspended: The match was suspended in the third set with the Mustangs having won the first two sets. No date was announced for completion of the match.

OTHELLO 3, EPHRATA 2: At Ephrata, the Huskies (2-4) outlasted the Tigers (2-5) 25-21, 25-11, 17-25, 19-25, 15-10 on the road.

ZILLAH 3, ROYAL 2: At ZIllah, the Leopards (10-3) staved off the upset bid by the Knights (6-7).

CONNELL 3, KIONA-BENTON 0: At Benton City, the third-place Eagles (9-5) remained alone in third place by handling the Bears (0-13).
