NACHES - Elizabeth Ramirez scored four goals and Amarylis Mendoza added two goals and an assist as Naches Valley opened district tournament play Thursday night with a 7-0 win over Zillah.

Emmaria Mendoza also found the net, and Carson Denny and Emma Sloan each delivered assists to help the No. 2 seed Rangers build a 5-0 halftime advantage. Naches made it 6-0 one minute into the second half when Amarylis Mendoza put home a loose ball, but the No. 7 Leopards' defense held strong,

Naches Valley has won 12 straight, 11 by shutout.

Zillah goalkeeper Kat Heilman made a number of key saves to keep the Rangers' attack at bay before Ramirez recorded her final tally with 11 minutes to go.

Naches will host No. 3 Royal on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the tournament semifinals, while the Leopards will face a loser-out contest at No. 6 Omak.

CASHMERE 6, COLLEGE PLACE 1: At Cashmere, the top-seeded Bulldogs improved to 16-2 overall with a comfortable win over the No. 8 Hawks.

CASCADE 4, WAHLUKE 1: At Leavenworth, the No. 4 Kodiaks cruised past the Warriors and will face Cashmere in Saturday's district semifinals. 

ROYAL 5, OMAK 0: At Royal, the Knights earned the shutout over the Pioneers, who will host Zillah in a loser-out game Saturday.

WENATCHEE 3, SUNNYSIDE 0: At Wenatchee, the Panthers (12-0) capped their third straight unbeaten conference run with the victory. 

DAVIS 3, WEST VALLEY 0: At West Valley, the Pirates (10-2) cemented their spot in second place against the Rams (7-5), who will be the No. 3 seed at the district tournament.

EASTMONT 3, MOSES LAKE 2: At Moses Lake, the Wildcats (4-8) outlasted the Mavericks (5-7) to move into a fifth-place tie with Eisenhower.
