YAKIMA – Drayden Birley and Dalton Hargraves connected three times for touchdowns and West Valley upset Eastmont 23-22 in CBBN football Friday night at Clasen Field.

The Wildcats scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter and went for a would-be go-ahead two-point conversion, but were unsuccessful.

The Rams played keep-away and preserved the victory to improve to the 3-3 in conference play. They will visit Central Valley in Spokane to finish their season.

Eastmont, which hadn’t lost to any conference foe other than Moses Lake in the last three seasons, fell to 4-2 in the CBBN and 4-4 overall.

The Wildcats earned the conference’s second berth to the Week 10 state-qualifiers and will find out their opponent Sunday.

SUNNYSIDE 47, EISENHOWER 0: At Sunnyside, the Grizzlies won for the fourth straight time, scoring more than 40 points in all of the victories. Sunnyside (4-2 CBBN, 4-4 overall) is the CBBN’s third seed into the state play-ins in Week 10, and will find out its opponent Sunday. The Cadets (0-6, 0-9) host Pasco next Friday to finish their season.
