This past weekend went so well for area teams, a couple of them are going to follow the same schedule.
Two-time defensing CBBN champion Moses Lake will again kickoff at 1 p.m. Saturday in its Class 4A state playoff opener against 10th-seeded Bothell. The seventh-seeded Mavericks improved to 10-0 with a 49-35 Week 10 victory against Issaquah, starting at 1 o’clock.
Senior quarterback Brady Jay threw five more touchdown passes to give him 64, three shy of the state record held by Prosser’s Kellen Moore, who is in his first year coaching the New Orleans Saints.
East Valley, seeded third in the 2A, kicked off at 2 Saturday and rolled past Rogers of Spokane 56-0 to also improve to 10-0. They’ll get things started at the same time this Saturday when 14th-seeded Burlington-Edison comes to town,
No. 8 Othello is starting a little later – 4 p.m. – than this past Saturday, but again will be playing at Husky Field as No. 9 Sehome heads east.
Prosser, seeded 13th, didn’t get to choose the time necessarily, as the Mustangs are on the road, but 6 p.m. Friday was agreed upon with No. 4 Orting. That’s the same time Prosser started to handle North Mason at Art Fiker Stadium in a 42-14 victory in Week 10.
In Class 1A, Royal and Cashmere are seeded No. 1 and 2, respectively and received byes into next week’s quarterfinals.
