Olympic was seeded 16th with a trip to heavily favored Archbishop Murphy, which is 9-0 and has outscored opponents 483-59. BREMERTON -- The text appeared on my phone at 12:42 p.m. Sunday, shortly after the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's state football seeding committees finalized their brackets.

"We got hosed," the text read.

Somehow, Olympic's football team, 9-1 and winners of the Olympic League 2A title this fall, went from being seeded No. 9 in last week's Round of 32 to seeded last, at No. 16, in the first round of state. That puts the Trojans into a road contest at Saturday at 2 p.m. with undefeated No. 1 Archbishop Murphy, most everyone's heavy favorite to become champions. The game is scheduled to be held at Goddard Stadium in Everett.
