McGee carries Sumner past Puyallup, back to final

Former Davis standout rushes for more than 300 yards, five touchdowns

Former Davis standout Lance McGee rushed for 313 yards and five touchdowns as fifth-seeded Sumner upset No. 1 Puyallup 42-35 Saturday in the Class 4A state semifinals.


The Spartans return to the championship game, where they defeated Camas 27-24 last season.


The Vikings had defeated Sumner 58-22 in Week 5. 


McGee, the CBBN Defensive Player of the Year in 2024, scored 22 touchdowns for the Pirates last season.
