Royal running back Dax Jenks and Cashmere quarterback Rylan Hatmaker for the second straight year are up for the VarsityWA Athlete of the Week.

Jenks followed his 226-yard, five-touchdown semifinal performance against Lynden Christian with 143 yards and a score, and also had two receptions for 101 yards, including a 71-yard TD in the Knights’ 21-20 win over Cashmere late Friday afternoon to win the Class 1A title at Husky Stadium.

Hatmaker threw for 205 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 73 yards, including a 3-yard score in the final seconds of the Bulldogs' first title game appearance since 2008.

Jenks won the Week 13 vote.

Both SCAC standouts again will go up against Davis running back Lance McGee, who rushed for 368 yards and six touchdowns to lead Sumner to a 41-35 victory against second-seeded Lake Stevens in the 4A championship game.
