TOPPENISH – Samiah Baker scored 28 points and Viviana Hernandez added 26 to lead Toppenish to a 64-46 nonleague basketball victory in its season debut Tuesday night.

The Wildcats host Othello to open CWAC play Friday.

In SCAC season-openers, Naches Valley’s girls remained unbeaten with a 60-23 victory against College Place.

Emmaria Mendoza scored 18 points and Mia Staggs had 15 points and four steals for the Rangers.

The Naches Valley boys also remained perfect thise season, defeating the Hawks 60-50 Dayne Brownlow leading the way with 17 points.
