LEWISTON – Ellensburg junior Bella Standish surpassed 1,000 points for her career Monday afternoon as the Bulldogs defeated Pendleton 69-28 at the Avista Holiday Tournament at Lewis Clark State College.

Standish finished with 24 points and Ellie Markus added 16 for the victors.

Ellensburg (4-2) will meet Lewiston at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Davis falls again

Top-ranked Davis fell to South Medford 83-78 in the semifinals of the Platinum Division of the POA Holiday Classic.

It’s the second straight loss for the reigning Class 4A state champions, who were beaten at the buzzer Sunday evening against defending Oregon 6A champ Tualatin 74-71.

Davis junior Cheyenne Hull scored a season-high 36 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for Davis, and fellow 11th-grader Isa Garcia added 30 points.

The Pirates will meet either Southridge of Beaverton, Ore., or Dallas' Faith Family at noon Tuesday for third place in the division.
