The Ellensburg girls basketball team saw its 82-game regular season winning streak brought to an end with back-to-back losses in mid-December.
On Friday, however, the Bulldogs showed they’re not about to give up their CWAC dominance without a fight.
Bella Standish, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this season, scored a game-high 24 points and Ellie Markus added 16 to lead Ellenburg (6-2 CWAC) to a 59-48 conference victory to stay within a game of first place.
The Vikings (7-1) face another challenge Saturday when they host Grandview (6-2). It was the Greyhounds who ended Ellensburg’s winning streak last month.

Selah won the first matchup 50-46 in Grandview.
The Greyhounds-Vikings boys game will be between first and second place.
Third-ranked Selah is unbeaten in league play at 8-0, while Grandview is 7-1.
The Vikings won the first matchup 68-51, but the Greyhounds were without all-CWAC guard Frankie Medina, the program’s all-time assist leader who returned to action during the SunDome Shootout.
Saturday’s doubleheader at Selah begins at 1:30.
