In a matchup scheduled on the fly, Class 4A defending champion Davis hosted Zillah, the top-ranked team in 1A, for a nonleague girls basketball game.

A good crowd turned out for the matchup between state title hopefuls.

The shooting of junior Isa Garcia and the all-around game of fellow 11th-grader Cheyenne Hull led the Pirates to the 78-45 victory. 

Both teams return to league play to wrap up the regular season before postseason starts next month.
