After an unbeaten run through the CWAC in the regular season, the top-seeded and third-ranked Selah boys showed no signs of slowing down Wednesday night.

Junior standout Oliver Pepper scored a game-high 32 points, and the Vikings shook off a slow start and beat Ellensburg 66-38 to advance to the district semifinals.

Selah (20-2) scored just 12 points in the first quarter and trailed by three going into the second.

The Vikings, though, held the Bulldogs to four points in the second quarter and took a 32-19 into the intermission.

Forwards Finn Tait and Jaxon Benge scored 12 and 11 points apiece, respectively, for Selah, which is off until Feb 17 when the winner of Saturday’s matchup between Othello and Prosser comes to town.

Jaxon Orejudos led the Bulldogs (9-13) with 11 points. Ellensburg will meet eighth-seeded Quincy at 6 p.m. Saturday in a loser-out contest.

The Jackrabbits (7-15) upset No. 5 Toppenish, 61-53, in a play-in game.

With a couple players still battling through ankle injuries, second-seeded Grandview also got out of the gates slowly, too, and trailed No. 3 seed Prosser 30-29 at halftime.

But the Greyhound broke free in the second half, outscoring the Mustangs by 21 points in a 71-49 victory.

Braden Santos scored 15 of his game-high 23 points after the intermission for Grandview (16-6) which also got 19 from Deontae Howard and 12 from Frankie Medina.

The Greyhounds will host the winner of Saturday’s game between Quincy and Ellensburg.

Branden Clarks scored 16 points and Adrian Rivera had 12 for Prosser (10-12), which hosts Othello at 6 p.m. Saturday in a loser-out contest.

The Huskies (9-13) beat East Valley, 81-75, in a loser-out contest.
