Here's a look at the 15 round-of-16 games involving teams in the CBBN, CWAC and SCAC.
CLASS 4A
BOYS
No. 8 West Valley (19-2) vs. No. 1 Mount Si (21-4)
When, where: 4 p.m. Saturday, Issaquah High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Wildcats welcomed Lattimore Ford back to the lineup last month, and haven’t lost to an in-state opponent since their opener. With Boise State-recruit Brady Hennig leading the way for Mount Si, the Rams have their work cut out. West Valley’s high-scoring offense led by CBBN player of the year and star sophomore Austin Birley has kept up with everybody this season.
No. 16 Sunnyside (15-8) vs. No. 9 Auburn (21-3)
When, where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Auburn High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Wednesday’s loser-out first round, loser heads home.
What to look for: The Trojans were a borderline protected seed as NPSL regular-season champs with conference co-MVP Daniel Johnson leading the way. Playing on its home court could be a big boost for Auburn. The Grizzlies won three straight district games to get here, and likely will need a big game from CBBN scoring champ Aiden Sanchez to advance.
GIRLS
No. 16 Eisenhower (14-9) vs. No. 9 Auburn (20-3)
When, where: 4 p.m. Saturday, Auburn High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Wednesday’s loser-out first round, loser heads home.
What to look for: Cadets first-year coach Brian Cliett has gotten the most out of the Cadets, who are in the state field for the first time in 20 years. The grind-it-out approach will go against the Trojans and two-time league MVP Avery Hansen, who leads the attack under her mother/coach’s guidance.
No. 1 Davis (20-2) vs. No. 8 Sumner (24-3)
When, where: 8 p.m. Saturday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: For the third time in the last two postseasons, the Pirates and Spartans meet, and it’s a rematch of last year’s regional in which Sumner stunned the Pirate Ship with the upset. Healthy and unbeaten against in-state opponents this season, it’s doubtful Davis takes lightly the Spartans, who are likely under-seeded after winning the SPSL North. It’s the fifth time in three calendar years the teams have played, including last year’s title game.
.
CLASS 2A
BOYS
No. 3 Selah (21-3) vs. No. 6 Anacortes (19-4)
When, where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Vikings went unbeaten in the CWAC, before falling to Grandview in the district final. Led by junior Oliver Pepper, the conference MVP, Selah scored 80 or more points nine times. The Seahawks topped a down year for the 2A Northwest Conference, but are still plenty dangerous sparked by Central Washington football recruit Micah Dickison.
No. 7 Grandview (18-6) vs. No. 2 R.A. Long (24-0)
When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday, Kelso High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Greyhounds battled through injuries much of the season, before handing CWAC regular-season champion Selah its only loss of the season against a conference opponent to win the district championship and secure a protected seed. The Lumberjacks are the lone unbeaten in the 2A boys field, and had a case for the top seed.
GIRLS
No. 3 Prosser (21-3) vs. No. 6 W.F. West (20-4)
When, where: 6 p.m. Friday, Grandview High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: It’ll be a matchup of conference MVPs with Prosser’s Herbie Wright, the CWAC winner, facing off against the Bearcats’ Dylan Boeck, who won the honor in the Evergreen Conference. The Mustangs have been on a roll since suffering its lone loss of the conference season in early January, and have won 13 straight games, all but one of the victories by more than 20 points.
No. 8 Selah (19-7) vs. No. 1 Lynden (23-0)
When, where: 6 p.m. Friday, Lynden High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Vikings earned their first state berth in 45 years, and were rewarded with a date against the two-time defending champions and the field’s lone unbeaten. Finley Parcher and Payton Mills, the tournament’s last two MVPs. Selah closed with three wins in its last four games, including a district victory over Grandview for a berth in a winner-to-state crossover.
No. 7 Ellensburg (19-5) vs. No. 2 Deer Park (21-2)
When, where: 8 p.m. Saturday, West Valley (Spokane) High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Bulldogs have been to the championship game in four straight tournaments with championships in 2022 and 2023, but looked like state might not be in the offing before they surged, winning seven straight to earn the berth. The Stags, led by Idaho State-bound Emma Bryant, have been on the cusp of the title game, and this might be the year the Greater Spokane League 2A champs break through.
CLASS 1A
BOYS
No. 13 Montesano (17-6) vs. No. 12 Wapato (15-11)
When, where: 6 p.m. Friday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Wednesday’s loser-out first round, loser heads home.
What to look for: The Wolves notched a win at District 6 champion Medical Lake in a crossover to earn a berth in the round of 16, and will have to beat the Evergreen 1A champs to reach the SunDome for the first time in 10 years. The Bulldogs were riding a seven-game winning streak before being edged by Fort Vancouver in the district championship.
No. 6 King’s (17-6) vs. No. 3 Royal (21-3)
When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: In a battle of Knights, Royal enters with all three of their losses to top-ranked and unbeaten Zillah, with the last two defeats coming in the final seconds. Junior Grant Wardenaar led the SCAC in scoring and often puts up huge numbers. Most of the losses for King’s came against much bigger schools, including 4A contender Glacier Peak.
No. 8 Seattle Christian (17-5) vs. No. 1 Zillah (23-0)
When, where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: The Leopards have been atop the poll all season after finishing third a season ago, and returning much of its roster. They overcame an early season injury to star Dekker Van De Graaf and held off Royal twice to remain unbeaten. The Warriors were tied with Bellevue Christian atop the tough Nisqually, and beat the Vikings twice, including in a winner-to-state matchup after both teams
fell in the district semifinals.
GIRLS
No. 14 Bear Creek (12-11) vs. No. 11 Wapato (20-5)
When, where: 8 p.m. Friday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Wednesday’s loser-out first round, loser heads home.
What to look for: The Wolves could be the field’s most under-seeded team. Wapato suffered a pair of losses to second-seeded Zillah and No. 5 Royal, although the Wolves and Knights split in the regular season. Wapato is back in the field for the fifth straight tournament, while the Grizzlies are trying to reach a state venue for the first time in 12 years.
No. 7 Seton Catholic (20-3) vs. No. 2 Zillah (22-2)
When, where: 4 p.m. Saturday, Davis High School.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: It’s a rematch from last year’s regional, that pushed the Cougars into the quarterfinals. Zillah’s only losses are to CBBN champion and top-ranked Davis, and CWAC champ and 2A No. 3 Prosser. Seton Catholic’s attack took a big hit with a season-ending knee injury to point guard Madison Lee.
No. 5 Royal (20-4) vs. No. 4 Annie Wright (18-5)
When, where: 6 p.m. Friday, UPS Fieldhouse in Tacoma.
What’s at stake: Winner to Thursday’s quarterfinals, loser to Wednesday’s loser-out first round.
What to look for: Coach Farrah Wardenaar and the 1-2 punch of Lauren Wardnenaar and Graycie Kast have the Knights in their first tournament in 25 years. The Gators went unbeaten in the Nisqually League and cruised through the district tournament, and haven’t loss in the 2026.
