You can’t win the March Madness pool on the first weekend of play, but you can definitely lose it.

Three of the 22 coaches in the Second Street Sideline Showdown saw their predicted champion fall in the second round of the NCAA men’s tournament. Two entries lost Florida and another lost Gonzaga.

Meanwhile, Jessica Huntongton – the coach of CWAC regular-season and district champion, and state runner-up Prosser girls – leads as the tournament heads into the sweet 16 beginning Thursday.

Connell girls coach Darbi Pink and Eastmont girls coach Joel Barnes are tied for second, a point behind.

The winner receives a gift card from contest sponsor Second Street Grill.

Here is the top 10 with points earned and possible points in parentheses. The points possible takes into account what the contestant lost.

Point values increase deeper into the tournament. A first-round game is worth one point, while picking the correct champion is worth 15 points.
