Third at last year’s Class 2A state tournament last spring at Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham, the Othello baseball team is No. 2 in the VarsityWA debut rankings.

East Valley, which a season ago tied atop the CWAC standings with the Huskies and Selah at 14-2, is sixth. The Vikings, fourth at state last May, are just outside the top 10.

Defending CBBN champion West Valley, which Tuesday opened conference play with a 16-2 victory against Davis and topped 3A No. 1 Kennewick last Saturday is just outside the top 10 in 4A.

Cashmere, a 1A quarterfinalist in 2025, is fourth, with SCAC rival Zillah just outside the top 10.

The SCAC is well-represented in the fastpitch poll, with defending conference champion and 2024 state winner Royal No. 5 and College Place and Cashmere coming in at eighth and ninth, respectively.

East Valley is ninth in the 2A poll.
