YAKIMA – Davis soccer scored three second-half goals and knocked off defending conference champion Wenatchee in CBBN boys soccer action Friday.

After the Panthers (1-1 CBBN) took a 1-0 lead shortly after intermission on Pierre Vega’s goal, the Pirates (2-0) responded with three straight goals.

Bryan Juarez knotted the score six minutes after Wenatchee’s breakthrough.

Davis then benefitted from an own goal in the 57thminute, before Jaime Alocer cushioned the lead in the 77th minute.

Anthony Gacia had a goal in the waning minutes for Wenatchee.

BASEBALL

West Valley sweeps Davis

Defending CBBN champion West Valley (3-0 CBBN) capped a three-game season sweep of Davis (0-3 CBBN) with a pair of 10-0 victories Friday.

Colton Worley hit a three-run inside-the-park home run in the opener, and Rhyse Elder and Viganksy combined on a two-hitter.

In the second game, Ryan Rhoads and Gavin Rose combined on a six-inning no-hitter. The duo struck out seven and walked just two.

Worley knocked in two runs, and Colby Graham had two – including a double – and drove in a run.

SOFTBALL

Moses Lake opens CBBN with sweep

Mya Martinez homered and Alina Lopez hit a two-run double to back Caitlin Decubber’s five-inning one-hitter and Moses Lake (2-0 CBBN) beat Sunnyside (0-2 CBBN) 10-0 top a conference-opening sweep Friday.

Reigning conference Player of the Year Hayden Morris homered, doubled twice and drove in three runs in a 19-1 Mavericks victory in the second game.

Decubber collected three hits, including a triple, scored four runs and drove in four.
