Five coaches remain in the hunt for top bracket prize
Connell's Pink leads, with Royal's Wardenaar, Eastmont coaches in hunt

The pathway to the inaugural championship of the Second Street Sideline Showdown is clear – with some explanation.
Sunday’s stunning last-second victory by UConn against Duke in the East Region final ousted the champion for four of the coaches, including pool leader Darbi Pink, the Connell girls coach.
Still, Pink, and four other coaches, remain in the running for the top prize – a gift card from contest sponsor Second Street Grill in downtown Yakima – and bragging rights.
Here are the coaches who can still win:
- Darbi Pink, Connell girls: Wins if Illinois beats Arizona in the championship game.
- Farrah Wardenaar, Royal girls: Wins if Arizona wins championship.
- Rick Hartman, Naches Valley boys: Wins if Michigan beats UConn and he wins tiebreaker.
- Wayde Knowles, Eastmont boys: Wins if Michigan beats UConn and he wins tiebreaker.
- Joel Barnes, Eastmont girls: Wins if Michigan beats Illinois in the championship.
Five coaches, one prize, and – hopefully – three thrilling games.
Here is the top 10 with points earned and possible points and predicted champion in parentheses. The points possible takes into account what the contestant lost.
Point values increase deeper into the tournament. A first-round game is worth one point, while picking the correct champion is worth 15 points.
