Castro keys sweep for Sunnyside, West Valley outlasts East Valley
Junior's grand slam helps Grizzlies in CBBN action, Gaethle homers for Rams

YAKIMA – Sunnyside shortstop Makenna Castro’s big day at the plate Tuesday carried the Grizzlies to a sweep of Davis in CBBN fastpitch action.
The junior hit an inside-the-park grand slam in a 25-6 victory in the opener, and totaled three hits – including a pair of doubles – and drove in four runs in the second game, a 27-3 Grizzlies (2-4 CBBN, 6-5 overall) victory over the Pirates (0-6, 1-9).
In nonleague action, Danika Gaethle smacked a three-run home and West Valley (9-2 overall) scored five runs in the top of the seventh to beat East Valley 15-10.
Sophiya Castaneda, Tia Ramynke, Brooklynn Root and Presley Weatherley all hit home runs for the Red Devils (6-4).
In CWAC baseball action, league contenders East Valley, Ellensburg and Othello all posted large victories.
The fourth-ranked Red Devils (7-0 CWAC) visit the third-ranked Huskies (5-0) on Saturday in a key doubleheader.
