The historic senior year for Moses Lake’s Brady Jay has continued into the spring.

After setting the state single-season record for touchdown passes iwith 72 in fall for the quarterfinalist Mavericks football team, and averaging more than 20 points per game in basketball, the Montana-bound quarterback is the fastest athlete in the state.

Jay’s 10.74 seconds in the 100-meter dash ranks No. 1 in all classifications. He clocked the time last week at a dual meet against Eastmont.

Wenatchee senior Maile England also owns a state best in the pole vault, having cleared 12 feet, 5.5 inches Saturday at the prestigious Oregon relays.

England’s teammate Allie Knoop owns the top 800-meter run this season at 2 minutes, 13.22 seconds. She also is fifth in 4A in the 400 meters (58.60).

In the boys 800, Eisenhower’s Kian Compton (1:54.02) is second in 4A and West Valley’s Max Gallegos is third (1:55.46).

Eastmont’s Kayden Andre-Van Lith is second in 4A in the pole vault at 15-6, with teammate Carter Riggs fourth (14-6).

Wenatchee’s Sophia Paslay is second in the discus (123-1 ) with West Valley’s Elizabeth French third (121-7).

French along with Rams teammates Vera Attig, Zoey Moon and Callie Orcutt, Elizabeth French are second in 4A in the 4X400 at 4:02.72.

Wenatchee’s mile relay is third.

Fellow Panther Vantage Morrison is third in the 110-meter hurdles (14.72), and he is part of the 4A’s third-fastest 4X400 relay with Bradley McIver, Shawn Watson and Sam Wagner at 3:27.38.

West Valley’s Micah Jones is third in the high jump at 6-5.
