After her state championship hopes were upended midway through the Class 1A 100-meter championship race last spring, Zillah’s Aysia Garcia is on course again to try the fastest girls in the classification next month.

Recovered from the heel injury, Garcia’s time of 12.13 seconds in the 100 is the best in 1A this season.

She, along with Paige Favilla, Isabella Gillihan and Vikki Walle, also own the top 4X100 time at 50.84 seconds.

Naches Valley’s 6-foot, 2-inch high jump also is a state-best, as is the 179-2 javelin heave of Connell’s Benjamin Naef.

Cashmere’s Taylor Kunz has the second-best time in the 100-meter hurdles (16.25), and is third in the long jump (17-4.5).

Kunz’s Bulldogs teammate Mackenzie Van Bogart’s 800-meter time of 2:22.11 is second best in the state.

Finley Hahn-Keenan of Naches Valley is third in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.51.
