Mastering one sport is impressive enough.

But dominating in multiple sports on the biggest stage puts you on an elite level of performance.

As  a salute to those teenagers who are making a name for themselves in  separate sports seasons, VarsityWA has come up with the 10 most exciting  multi-sport high school athletes in the state in 2025-26.

Criteria  for top multi-sport athlete selections was largely based on individual  accomplishments — league and all-state honors, as well as recruiting  pedigree — and team success, particularly in the postseason. Input from  coaches and media was also heavily considered:

1. FINLEY PARCHER, Lynden (2A)

Sports: Basketball, volleyball

Skinny: Led Lions to a pair of undefeated WIAA championship runs in both sports — and was named 2A state player of the year in each of them. And the junior is arguably the top returning basketball player in Washington with multiple NCAA D1 offers.

2. TYTAN MCNEAL, Eastside Catholic (3A

Sports: Football, basketball

Skinny: Nation’s No. 1 tight end prospect in 2028 class quickly became focal point of Eastside Catholic’s offense last fall. Also an NCAA D1 recruit in basketball. Was named to 3A Metro League first team in both sports (and defensive MVP in basketball).

3. BLAKE MOSER, Lake Stevens (4A)

Sports: Football, baseball

Skinny: Athletes who can run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and can throw a baseball in the low 90-mph range do not grow on trees. Junior was state’s breakout star in football (3,462 yards of total offense, 55 TDs), and is also top baseball prospect.

4. BRADY JAY, Moses Lake (4A)

Sports: Football, track and field, basketball

Skinny: What a senior season this Montana quarterback signee is having. The state offensive MVP set a WIAA record with 72 touchdown passes. He averaged 22.8 points per game in basketball. And he is one of the state’s top sprinters this spring.

5. DEVYN WILSON, Skyline (4A)

Sports: Softball, flag football, volleyball

Skinny: Nobody hits a softball harder and farther than this Coastal Carolina outfielder signee, who is arguably the No. 1 in-state recruit in the 2026 class. Also dominated as two-time 4A KingCo first-team outside receiver for WIAA title-winning flag squad.

6. GRANT WARDENAAR, Royal (1A)

Sports: Basketball, football

Skinny: A legitimate state player of the year candidate in both sports, this junior took the reins at quarterback and guided the Knights to a sixth consecutive Class 1A title. Also the classification’s leading scorer (30.9 ppg) for state basketball semifinalist.

7. DEVON BANKERS, Sumner (4A)

Sports: Soccer, flag football

Skinny: Ever watched this 6-footer go up for a ball? Simply put, the junior owns the air space — as an NCAA D1 goalkeeper commit to Saint Mary’s women’s soccer, and as an all-4A SPSL outside wide receiver for the Spartans’ final-four state flag squad.

8. GAGE WILLIAMS, Chiawana (4A)

Sports: Football, basketball

Skinny: There isn’t much this Portland State football signee cannot do. He was an all-4A/3A MCC two-way first-team football player (tight end, linebacker), then the three-time all-league hoopster set the program mark for most career points.

9. TREVIN SALME, Adna (2B)

Sports: Basketball, football, golf

Skinny: Junior was an all-state guard and co-2B Central MVP on a 2B runner-up basketball squad. He also was the quarterback for an Adna football team that reached the WIAA semifinals. And he’s defending his state golf title this spring, too.

10. MADILYN CROWLEY, Ridgeline (3A)

Sports: Basketball, crew

Skinny: Dominated the Greater Spokane League in the post as the league’s leading scorer (18.9 ppg), but her next-level sport will be on display starting next spring on the Grand River with Michigan State women’s crew team.

Other notables: Zach Albright, Glacier Peak, jr. (football, basketball); Elena Flansburg, Garfield-Palouse, sr. (volleyball, basketball); Max Grindy, Almira-Coulee-Hartline, jr. (football, basketball); Achilles Reyna, Rainier Beach, jr. (basketball, football); Ethan Thayer, Onalaska, jr. (football, track and field).
