West Valley baseball third in RPI, No. 6 in all-classes top 25
Rams the lone unbeaten in Class 4A, Othello remains No. 2 in 2A

West Valley’s unbeaten baseball team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Class 4A rankings of the WIAA’s Ratings Percentage Index.
The Rams, who are 7-0 in CBBN play and 10-0 overall, also jumped up four spots to sixth in the Prep Baseball Washington Power 25 all-classifications rankings.
West Valley opened its three-game series with Sunnyside with a 6-1 road victory. The teams will wrap up the series Friday with a doubleheader on the Rams’ diamond.
In the CBBN race, West Valley owns a one-game lead over Moses Lake, and have won 25 straight in conference play.
The Rams are the lone undefeated team in 4A.
Othello, which took a big step toward its first outright conference championship in more than 20 years with a sweep of East Valley on Saturday, remained No. 2 in 2A. The Huskie will try to rebound their first conference loss to Quincy on Tuesday when they travel to Ephrata on Saturday.
The Red Devils fell from third to No. 6 after losing to the Huskies, while Ellensburg, which sits atop the CWAC standings at 8-0 in conference play with games with East Valley sandwiching a doubleheader a week from Saturday against Othello.
Cashmere remained third in 1A, while Zillah fell to two spots to No. 7. The Bulldogs and Leopards split a doubleheader April 4.
In the softball RPI, Selah went from 20th to No. 6 after sweeping Ellensburg on Tuesday. The Vikings (6-0 CWAC) visit East Valley (8-0) on Tuesday in a key doubleheader.
After splitting a doubleheader Tuesday, College Place remained No. 3 in 1A, while Royal climbed one spot to fifth. Kiona-Benton, the lone unbeaten in SCAC play at 8-0, jumped four spots to No. 8.
The Bears visit the Knights on Tuesday, and then host College Place next Friday.
