Wenatchee caps sweep of Mavs, Selah's Brewer blasts away

Vikings slugger hits four home runs in sweep, Panthers alone in second place

Owen Ervin totaled five hits, including two triples and a double, five runs and four RBI as Wenatchee completed a three-game sweep of Moses Lake (9-3 CBBN) with 7-1 and 8-6 victories to take over second place in the conference.


Griffin tripled, doubled and scored two runs in the opener, and Blake Schuyleman added a two-run single and doubled in the second game.


The Eisenhower baseball team recorded its first victories of the season Friday, sweeping a doubleheader against Davis 8-5 and 9-7.


Andrew Roy tripled and had two hits, two runs and an RBI in the opener, and Victor Garcia and Juan Herrera each had a two hits and an RBI in the second game,


West Valley (9-0 CBBN) ran its conference winning streak to 27 games with 8-0 and 14-1 wins at Sunnyside.


Ryan Rhoads and Brody Vigansky combined on a one-hitter in the opener, and Colton Worley added a two-run triple.


Alex Morales had an RBI double and two-run single, and Drayden Birley added a two-run double in the second game.


In nonleague action, Cashmere, No. 3 in the Class 1A. beat Eastmont 6-0 with reigning SCAC MVP Tom McDevitt scattered three hits over five innings, striking out eight, and Ethan Bessonette pitched a perfect sixth and seventh inning.

Brewer's big day carries Viks

Selah’s Avery Brewer smacked four homers and the Vikings swept Grandview 15-2 and 14-3 to climb into a tie with East Valley atop the conference at 8-0.


The Red Devils will host Selah in a doubleheader Tuesday.


Brewer, who is headed to University of Michigan, hit a grand slam, three-run homer and a solo shot in the second.


She also hit a solo home run in the opener, while Payton Brown added an three-run homer.


Aspin Grubenhoff and Kylie Colton also homered in the first game.


In CBBN action, Moses Lake swept Wenatchee 11-5 and 10-3 to improve to 6-0 in conference play.


Reigning CBBN Offensive Player of the Year Hayden Morris hit two-run homes in each games, while Avery Getzinger homered in the opener and Alina Lopez added a solo shot in the second game for the Mavericks.


Elsewhere, Eisenhower swept crosstown rival Davis 26-12 and 22-0.

Davis takes control of CBBN race

Davis defeated Wenatchee 5-4 in CBBN action Friday night, sweeping the season series between the two teams and breaking a tie atop the conference standings.


Elsewhere, Aaron Leon netted his second straight hat trick in a row and Eastmont beat Eisenhower 4-1 to climb into a tie with the Panthers in second place. Wenatchee won the first matchup between the teams, 4-3, and they meet again May 5.


In SCAC action, Wapato remained unbeaten in conference play with a 3-0 victory against Highland.
