East Valley boys soccer closes in on outright CWAC title

YAKIMA – East Valley posted its fifth straight shutout victory to move within one win of an outright CWAC championship Thursday by beating Quincy 1-0.
Sonny Garcia netted the goal for the Red Devils, who improved to 6-1 in conference play and 12-1 overall.
East Valley travels to Ellensburg (4-2, 5-6-1) looking to cap the regular season.

Elsewhere, Toppenish improved to 5-2 in the CWAC and 9-5-1 overall with a 2-1 victory against visiting Grandview.
Maui Martinez and Luis Ramos scored for the Wildcats, while Edward Buenrostro tallied the Greyhounds score.

Moses Lake stays perfect in CBBN
YAKIMA – Caitlin Decubber totaled two triples, two doubles and five RBI, Samantha King had five hits – including a triple and a double – and knocked in eight runs, and Alina Lopez was 4 for 4 with four RBI and Moses Lake improved to 8-0 in CBBN action and 10-1 overall with a pair of 23-0 victories against Davis.
In the CWAC, Prosser swept Quincy, 16-6 and 22-12, Toppenish and Grandview split with the Wildcats winning the opener 15-5 and the Greyhounds taking the second game 21-1, and Ephrata doubled up Othello, 14-7 and 10-7.
