East Valley celebrated Senior Night by wrapping up at least a share of the CWAC fastpitch regular season championship Wednesday by sweeping Grandview 9-3 and 17-1.

The Red Devils take a one-game lead atop the CWAC standings over Selah, which caps its conference schedule with a doubleheader Friday at Prosser.

Reigning CWAC Player of the Year Tia Ramynke, one of four EV seniors, keyed a five-run fifth inning with a two-run homer. Elise Heater added two hits, one of them a triple.

Ramynke also pitched three perfect innings, striking out seven of the none batters she faced.

In the second game, Kendall Palmateer, also a senior, had three hits and drove in four runs for the Red Devils (15-1 CWAC, 16-4 overall). Fellow 12th-grader Presley Weatherley had a two-run triple, Ramynke added three RBI ands Heater had three hits, three runs and knocked in a pair of runs.

Sophiya Castaneda, another East Valley senior, drew three walks and scored three runs in the second game.

Ellensburg (10-4 CWAC, 14-5 overall) swept Othello 10-0 and 14-4 to leapfrog Ephrata for third place going into Friday’s finales.

Kylie Ayling homered, doubled and drove in five runs to back Miley Porter’s one-hitter in the opener,

Ayling homered again in the second game and Addison Oehlerich had two hits and drove in four.

In nonleague action, Danika Gaethle hit a grand slam and two-run double to lead West Valley (14-3) to a 20-10 victory against Kittitas.

Elsewhere, Caitlin Decubber had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Moses Lake (12-1) in a 9-3 victory against Selah (14-3). Aspin Grubenhoff collected three hit – one a triple and another a double – and had two RBI for the Vikings.
