SNOQUALMIE — Prosser power is strong and unrelenting.

It wins in numbers.

And on Wednesday, the star power showed up to be honored at the annual WIAA hall of fame induction at the Snoqualmie Casino.

In  front of 20 to 30 supporters, many of whom made a mid-morning 165-mile  drive from town just outside the Tri-Cities, Prosser football legends  Tom (coach) and Kellen Moore (quarterback) became the first father-son  sports duo to officially be inducted in the same class together (2025).

“There  are lot of people involved in making this town great,” said Tom Moore,  in between photos and hugs with some of his closest friends and former  players after the ceremony. “It’s old-fashioned - one high school in one  town. It was ‘Friday Nights Lights.’ It was a great experience for all  of us.”

And the Moores rewarded the town with some of the best football being playing in the whole state of Washington.

Tom Moore (1986-2009) was the architect,  posting a 275-41 coaching record in his 23 seasons, guiding the  Mustangs to 21 league championships and eight WIAA title-game  appearances, winning four of them (1992-93, 1999 and 2007).

Kellen Moore (2003-06) was the record-setting trigger man of a wide-open passing offense. He went 36-4 in his three seasons as a  starter, setting WIAA marks for career touchdown passes (173) and  single-season passing yardage (4,600). His single-team touchdown record  (67) was eclipsed last fall by Moses Lake’s Brady Jay (72). He was also  the Gatorade state player of the year as a senior.

“It is  really cool to kind of go in (to the (WIAA hall of fame) with him,” said  Kellen Moore, now entering his second seasons as the New Orleans Saints  coach in the NFL. “Obviously what he built at Prosser was the  foundation … and we got to be part of it, kind of the whole journey.”

It has been a hectic past 48 hours for the Moore family to be in attendance Wednesday afternoon.

After  the Saints’ mini-rookie camp practice Tuesday, both Moores took a  mid-day flight to Seattle. They were back out to New Orleans on a  red-eye flight Wednesday.

“Perfect timing,” Kellen Moore said.

And Kirby Moore, Tom’s youngest son who is now the new WSU football coach, drove over from Pullman late Tuesday as well.

“(Kellen) is missing the install (Wednesday),” Tom Moore said. “It is pretty busy, but it’s fun. We’re very lucky.”
