West Valley senior ties for third in 4A tourney, Hounds' Rhett Braman shoots 69

West Valley’s Pierson Kloster shot a par 72 at Dupont’s Eagles Pride Golf Course in Wednesday’s second round of the Class 1A state gold tournament to tie for third place.


In 2A, the Grandview boys and Selah both placed third in the team standings.


The Greyhounds’ Rhett Braman posted the best round of the day, with a 1-under 71 at Tumwater Valley Golf Club, to tie for seventh place.


Freshman Easton Stokes shot an 80 after an opening round 71 and tied for 12, and Grady Braman tied for 24th (157).


East Valley’s Henry Paul also finished with 149 to tie for seventh, and fellow Red Devils.


Burlington-Edison’s Wyatt Brownell won his third consecutive state title, following a first-round 69 with a 7-under 65.


In the girls 2A tournament at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis, Selah’s Elaine Mower tied for eighth.


West Valley junior Ava Olszewski, the three-time district champion, tied for 12th.
