The final two weeks of the high school sports calendar began this week, including the state fastpitch tournaments and the first two rounds of the baseball tourneys.

Eastmont and West Valley made their way to Richland's Columbia Playfields for the Class 4A state tournament, with the Rams getting their first state win in 4A.

Elsewhere Friday, East Valley and Selah competed in the 2A fastpitch tournament at Carlon Park in Selah. The Red Devils got their first win since 2018.

On Saturday, West Valley baseball took its unbeaten record into a 4A regional at Yakima County Stadium. The Rams faltered, seeing their season end with a loss to Curtis.
