Top baseball players try to earn spots in All-State Series
West Valley, Othello and East Valley well-represented Columbia Basin Senior Game

West Valley shortstop Colby Graham, the CBBN Player of the Year, will be one of 18 players from the Stat Hound footprint playing in Wednesday’s Columbia Basin All-Star Senior Game at Richland High School.
First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
Graham, who is headed to Whitworth, will be joined by Rams teammate Alex Morales. The left-handed Morales played center field and pitched for West Valley, and is headed to Central Washington.
CWAC regular-season champion and Class 2A state quarterfinalist Othello will have three players in the game.
Seattle U recruit Quade Gonzalez, a first baseman and pitcher, will be joined by centerfielder RJay Garza, headed to Whitworth, and standout pitcher Aiden Garza, who will play at Columbia Basin College.
Conference rival East Valley has four players on the roster, including Washington State pitching recruit Brandon Stone, as well as Braden Albrecht, who will play football at Eastern Oregon. Joey Bivins and Skyler Lingle also will represent the Red Devils
SCAC co-champion Zillah will have all-leaguers Caleb Rutherford, a pitcher-shortstop headed to Whitworth, and pitcher-first baseman Nathan Kibbe on the roster.
Davis’ Quinton Allen-Greggs, Eisenhower’s Victor Garcia, Moses Lake’s Noah Hernandez, Prosser’s Branden Clarke, Connell duo Tucker Thomasson and Hunter VanHollebeke, and Naches Valley’s Dane Bacchus also are set to play.
Othello coach Sonny Garza, the CWAC Coach of the Year will coach the team, and will be assisted by Eisenhower’s Roger Guzman, Toppenish’s Ken Mortenson and Jacob Mortenseon, East Valley’s Tyler Stone, and Othello’s Chris Brunetti, Charles Garcia, Jonathan Garza II Jaxon Rocha.
Ellensburg and Cashmere weren’t represented in the North Central Washington game to be played at Brewster because of scheduling difficulties.
The top players from the feeder games will play in the All-State Baseball Series set for June 26-28 at Parker-Faller Field on the Yakima Valley College campus.
