The top fastpitch players in the area conferences provided plenty of punch and pitch this past season.
West Valley senior Ainsley Johnson was voted the CBBN Player of the Year after leading the Rams to a share of the conference championship and their first win at the Class 4A state tournament in program history.
Johnson batted .421 with a home run and 19 RBI, and had a 12-5 record on the mound woth 3.04 earned-run averaged.
East Valley senior Presley Weatherley took top honors in the CWAC, keeping it in the Red Devil family after teammate Tia Ramynke won the award last spring.
Weatherley was a for at the plate batting .526 with six home runs, 42 RBI, 12 doubles and seven triples. On the mound, she owned a 1.94 ERA and had several clutch outings including a one-hitter in a victory against Selah in the district championship. She also helped EV notch its first state victory since 2018.
Royal senior Jill Allred and College Place junior Anna Ortega shared the Player of the Year award in the SCAC.
Allred batted .476 with two home runs and 24 RBI, and also owned a 10-3 record with a 2.26 ERA on the mound, and the Knights advanced to the Class 1A state tournament in Richland.
Ortega helped the Hawks finish fourth in state, going 18-1 with three saves and a 2.54 ERA, while batting .451 with 24 RBI.
