Leopards' Kibbe slugs homer in Columbia Basin All-Star Game
Zillah standout one of 10 Yakima players from feeder nominated for All-State Series

RICHLAND – Zillah first baseman Nathan Kibbe earned the MVP for the Yakima team in Wednesday’s Columbia Basin All-Star Game.
Kibbe slugged a home run to provide the offense for Yakima in a 20-1 Tri-Cities victory.
The contest, along with about a dozen others, serve as feeders for the All-State Baseball Series set for June 26-28 at Parker-Faller Field on the Yakima Valley College campus.
From Wednesday’s game, players will be nominated to be selected to one of the four rosters for the Baseball Series.
From the Yakima team, the 10 players nominated were Kibbe and Zillah teammate Caleb Rutherford, East Valley’s Brandon Stone, Othello’s Quade Gonzalez and Aiden Garza, West Valley’s Colby Graham and Alex Morales, Moses Lake’s Noah Hernandez, Cle Elum’s Glen Franklin and Kittitas’ Terrance Huber.
Players chosen for the All-State Series will be informed of their selection this weekend.
Kamiakin’s Zach Vega was named the Silver Slugger of the game, while Hanford’s Ty Repko was the Gold Glove of the game.
