The Naches Valley basketball programs will begin the 2026-27 season with new coaches

On Friday morning, Jordan Stinglen, an assistant in the program for five seasons, will take the reins of the Rangers boys program.

He takes over for Rick Hartman, who is stepping away from coaching. Hartman messaged that he’s not closing the door on coaching, but is looking forward to a free schedule over the holidays.

Stinglen’s promotion follows the May hiring of Ty Lindsey to lead the girls program following LeVonte Allen’s acceptance of the West Valley post.

Stinglen, a Maine native who works in the agriculture industry, played at the University of New England after a stellar career at Seacoast Christian School in South Berwick, Maine.

The Rangers finished the 2025-26 season 7-13 overall and 4-12 in conference play.

Owen Zimmerman (11.2 points per game) and Koben Clark (6.9) will be seniors next year, while Atlas Gentry (7.4) is set to return for his junior campaign.

A Colorado native, Lindsey has spent the last several years coaching in the Yakima Valley, and last year guided La Salle through a junior varsity schedule, as it tries to get its program going again.

Lindsey should have all-conference first-teamer Mia Staggs (15.7 points per game) back for her senior year, as well a third-team selection junior-to-be Emmaria Mendoza (7.5) back.

Elsewhere in the SCAC, College Place has hired Adriana Zayala as girls basketball coach, replacing Julie Hill.

Zayala, who is a dentist in the Walla Walla community, played at Monmouth University after playing at Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz.0

The Hawks are still looking to fill its boys head coach vacancy, while Wahluke is searching for a girls coach.
