SELAH – Ashton Barnes-Keller’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Yakima Valley to a 3-2 victory Wednesday night and a sweep of the Tri-City Titans to start league play at Archer Field.

Alex Whitesidee had an RBI double and Alex Morales had two hits for the Pak (7-3), which visits Tri-City for another doubleheader Thursday.

Bodie Yale pitched five solid innings, and Brody Roinestad tossed two no-hit innings of relief.

Easton Armstrong had a pair of two-run singles to key a 12-5 victory in the opener.

Beau Benjamin doubled twice and knocked in a run, Lucas Williams singled in two runs and Barnes-Keller tripled for Yakima in the first game.

On Tuesday, the Yakima Beetles dropped both ends of their league-opening doubleheader at the Hanford Flames, 4-3 and 11-1.

Brock Goodell had two hits and an RBI, and Kyson Bass knocked in a run for the Beetles (2-3).

Quinton Allen-Greggs struck out eight and walked two in 6 1/3 innings in the opener,

Allen-Greggs had an RBI single in the second game.

Yakima hosts the Bob Garretson Sr. Memorial Tournament beginning Thursday.

The Beetles meet Bellingham-based Post 7 at 7:30 p.m., following the Lower Valley (Sunnyside) Monarchs opening the tournament against Plakata, a 16U team from Yakima.
