Four area players – three from the CWAC and the SCAC two-time player of the year – will be part of this weekend’s All-State Baseball Series at Parker-Faller Field.
CWAC regular-season champion Othello will have a pair of players in the contest.
Huskies first baseman Quade Gonzalez will be joined by standout right-handed pitcher Aiden Garza are set to play for Team Rainier.
East Valley’s Brandon Stone, the 2025 CWAC MVP is on Team Baker, while Cashmere’s Tom McDevitt, winner of back-to-back SCAC MVPs, will play Saturday for the same squad.
Team Baker and Team Adams will get the action going at 11 Saturday in the first of two eight-inning games. Team Rainier and Team St. Helens will follow at 3.
Winners will meet Sunday at 1:45 p.m. for the championship, after Saturday’s losers meet at 10:15 a.m.
The event showcases nearly 100 of the state’s top class-of-2026 players, who earned a spot in the Series through feeder games. Some of those invited were unable to play because of other commitments, while a few of the players will play just one of the two days.
Seattle U-bound Gonzalez hit clean-up much of the season for Othello, batting .402 with three home runs and 28 RBI. He also saw pitching time for the Huskies.
Garza teamed with senior-to-be Xzyyvn Martinez to form a shutdown starting rotation. Headed to Columbia Basin College, Garza was 11-1 with a 1.43 earned-run average, and he struck out 103 batters against just 11 walks.
Stone won the CWAC Player of the Year a season ago, and was again key to the Red Devils’ success, both at the plate and on the mound. The right-hander struck out nearly 70 batters, and had a sub-2.00 ERA, while also flirting with a .400 batting average.
The left-handed McDevitt also was a two-way force. A three-sport standout bound for NAIA-level The Masters University in Santa Clarita, Calif, he batted .437 with two home runs and 27 RBI.
McDevitt also 9-0 pitching, with a 0.78 ERA, 69 strikeouts.
