SAN DIEGO – Caleb Rutherford smacked a three-run home run and Quinton Allen-Greggs hit a three-run double and Yakima rolled past University Post 434 10-1 in the Admiral Shelton Tournament.

Braden Albrecht added three hits, two runs and an RBI, and Nathan Kibbe singled, and drove in two runs.

Ryker Heeringa pitched six strong innings, giving up just four hits while striking out five and walking one, to pick up the win for Yakima (8-9).

Pak falters in Reno

RENO – Beau Benjamin hit a three-run double, but Yakima Valley fell to the Idaho Falls Bandits 11-8 on Saturday at the Josh Anderson Memorial Tournament.

Benjamin’s hit sparked a five-run bottom of the fifth inning as Yakima Valley took an 8-7 lead. The Bandits, however, scored two runs in the sixth and the seventh innings.

Dylan Kingston added two hits and an RBI, and Drew McDaniel doubled for the Pak.

Yakima Valley (13-7) finishes the tournament Sunday with a placing game
