RICHLAND – Jake Snow tossed a six-hit shutout to help Yakima Valley cap a league sweep Thursday night against the Flames Baseball Club.

Snow’s gem keyed a 7-0 nightcap victory after the Pak outlasted the Flame 4-1 in nine innings in the opener.

Yakima Valley won three of the four games in back-to-back doubleheaders between the teams. Wednesday’s twin bill was a split with the Pak winning the opener 11-1 before the Hanford club won the second game 10-1.

In Thursday’s second game, Snow struck out five and walked just one.

Alex Whiteside had an RBI double and drove in three for Yakima Valley, while Alex Morales and Lucas Williams each doubled in a run.

In the opener, the Pak scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning.

In the decisive rally, Bodie Yale led off with a single and Lucas Williams was hit by a pitch. After a sacrifice bunt, Corbin Goodlake’s sac fly scored Yale.

Following Ashton Barnes-Keller’s single, Easton Armstrong smacked a two-run double to cap the rally.

Colby Graham pitched six innings, scattering six hits, while striking out seven and walking just one. Grady Jansen pitched three shutout innings of relief – including a perfect eighth and ninth innings.

In the opener of Wednesday’s doubleheader, Goodlake hit a two-run double and finished with four RBI, and Alex Whitside added a two-run triple, drove in three runs and scored three more.

Barnes-Keller added an RBI double, Williams had two hits and Grady Jansen scored three runs.

Yale pitched five-inning two-hitter, giving up a lone run in the third.

Yakima Valley (17-8) heads to the Brandy Pugh Memorial Tournament hosted by Bellevue’s Lakeside Baseball Club beginning Thursday.

Beetles drop two to RCA

YAKIMA – The River City Athletics of Kennewick swept Yakima on Wednesday, winning the opener 18-4 and followed that with a 23-11 victory.

RCA used a 10-run third inning to win the five-inning first game.

Andrew Roy had two hits and an RBI, while Nathan Kibbe singles and knocked in a run for Yakima.

The Beetles nearly kept pace in the second game, and trailed 14-11 after four innings. But the Athletics broke away from there, scoring one in the fifth and eighth in the sixth.

Yakima had 11 hits, five of them for extra bases, but were undone by 10 errors that resulted in 10 unearned runs.

Braden Albrecht tripled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored four more, while Blake Gibbons added a triple and double, and knocked in two runs.

Roy had three hits, one of them a one-run double, and three RBI.

The Beetles (8-12) head to Spokane for the 2026 Wood Bat Classic that runs Friday-Monday.
