Cashmere baseball posts shutout, Briones' bat carries Sunnyside
Bulldogs' Bessonette tosses gem, senior's two HRs, eight RBI top Thursday's action

CASHMERE – Ethan Bessonette tossed a five-hit shutout and Jake Peterson had two hits, including a double, and knocked in a pair of runs and Cashmere beat Cle Elum 5-0 in nonleague baseball action Thursday.
Elsewhere, the Bulldogs fastpitch team hammered Mount Baker 14-1.
In fastpitch conference action, Lili Briones hit a grand slam and two-run inside-the-park homer to lead Sunnyside to a 26-2 victory against Davis. The senior finished with eight RBI.
Ephrata took both ends of a doubleheader against Grandview. Dakota Durfee collected three doubles and drove in two runs and scored five more in the twin bill, and Cami Martinez had four hits, including a triple, and knocked in three runs in the second game.
In nonleague baseball action, Selah fell to Lynden 5-4, with Christian Keller leading the Vikings with a two-run double.
Selah beat the Lion 3-1 on Wednesday as Easton Jones tossed a complete game, scattering seven hits and striking out five.
