HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – The Yakima Diamond Cats are down to their last strike at the USSSA’s Southeast Nationals.

Limited to four hits and committing just as many errors, the Diamond Cats fell to the Quad City Lady Hitmen 14-0 in the winner’s bracket semifinals Friday morning.

Yakima will now have to double back through the consolation bracket if it is to add a trophy to the second straight state championship it won earlier this summer.

The Diamond Cats will have to win three games to get to the championship matchup, beginning with a Saturday loser-out against a to-be-determined opponent.

Quad City scored three runs in the top of the first inning, and then blew it open with seven runs in the third. The Lady Hitmen had seven doubles and a triple.

Madi Statler, Ainsley Johnson, Ashleigh James and Lilli Van Wagoner all had hits for the Diamond Cats (17-7).
