The top four in the Stat Hound Power Rankings remained the same, but there was movement in Nos. 5-12, including Walla Walla's debut in the poll.
This week should continue to see shake up with four matchups between teams in the top 12.
1. Royal
Last week: 1. Record: 7-0.
The Knights’ march toward a seventh consecutive Class 1A state championship continues against Connell, which has earned a Week 10 play-in spot under first-year coach Micah Giles.
2. Eastmont
Last week: 2. Record: 7-0
The Wildcats have gutted out victories against West Valley and Wenatchee in the last two weeks, and this week face the biggest threat to their unbeaten record – a trip to Moses Lake.
3. Southridge
Last week: 3. Record: 6-1.
In what has been the least predictable conference in the Stat Hound footprint, the Suns continue to be a consistent force, and travel to face a Walla Walla squad that has warmed up the last two weeks.
4. Prosser
Last week: 4. Record: 7-0.
Prosser shook off a slow start to hand East Valley its first loss, and face another unbeaten Friday when Selah and star tailback Calen Wuitschick visit Art Fiker Stadium.
5. Chiawana
Last week: 5. Record: 6-1.
After another stellar defensive performance against Pasco, the Riverhawks host Kennewick on Friday before trying to wrap up an unbeaten record against 4A MCC schools next week against Richland.
6. Moses Lake
Last week: 7. Record: 6-1.
The two-time defending CBBN champions put up another dominating victory, and look ready for a visit from Eastmont in a matchup that has decided the last few conference championships.
7. Cashmere
Last week: 8. Record: 6-1.
The Bulldogs are rolling toward another top-four seed in the Class 1A state playoffs, and if it’s No. 2 like last years, they would be home or nearby through the semifinals.
8. Selah
Last week: 9. Record: 7-0.
A Homecoming victory against Ellensburg sets up a battle of unbeatens in Prosser this weekend, with the Vikings looking for their first win against the Mustangs since 2017.
9. Kennewick
Last week: 5. Record: 5-2.
The Lions defense has given up at least 33 points in its last two outings, and faces a tough couple of weeks to cap the regular season – road games against Chiawana and Southridge.
10. East Valley
Last week: 10. Record: 6-1.
The Red Devils got off to a good start at Prosser before the Mustangs got away in the second half. They’ll look to get back on the right track against Grandview before visiting Selah.
11. Walla Walla
Last week: Unranked. Record: 4-3.
The Blue Devils debut in the Power Rankings after junior quarterback Lincoln Heinrich guided Wa-Hi to back-to-back 20-plus-point victories against 3A foes Sageview and Kennewick and visit Southridge on Friday.
12. Wenatchee
Last week: 12. Record: 5-2.
The Panthers gave Eastmont a fight, and look to solidify their hold on the CBBN’s No. 3 spot in Class 4A round of 32 with a home game against Eisenhower before a trip to West Valley.
