RECORD NIGHT IN CWAC THRILLER

Jackrabbits star Bierlink has historic night

Just how historic Quincy senior's 64-point game is becomes a little murky

STAT HOUND

Feb 5, 2026

Quincy senior Pierce Bierlink scored 64 points Tuesday in a 96-93 double-overtime loss to Toppenish.

The monster game eclipses the Jackrabbits school record of 53, set by Pierce’s brother TreyVaughn on Feb. 19, 2022 against Colville. Pierce Bierlink knocked down 10 3-pointers and 14 of 17 free throws in Tuesday’s game.

The younger Bierlink already holds the school record and cruised past 2,000 points earlier this season. He also took the sibling crown.

“His brother finally admitted Tuesday night, that Pierce is better than him,” Quincy coach and father of the high-scoring hoopers Scott Bierlink messaged.

What records it might top beyond that is a little gray.

Jonathan Gordon, the CWAC sports information director, said there isn’t a conference record book, but hadn’t seed a bigger game in his five years on the job.

He said he told Scott Bierlink to tout the 64 points as the “unofficial conference record.”

Seems fair.

After some digging, Coach Bierlink unearthed what could very well be the answer – Lucky’s Amazing Sports Lists. While the website is rudimentary in design, it could be the Rosetta Stone of information, at least for state boys basketball scoring.

On the site, it lists all of the single-game scoring records and top games for each of the 50 states.

The site is updated through last season as it includes the 61-point outburst by Rainiers Beach’s Jaylen Petty had against Nathan Hale in January 2025.

For Washington, the site lists Bob Wright of Green Hill Correctional having scored 80 and 65 points, respectively, in 1968 games against southwest Washington Class B schools Mary M. Knight and Oakville.

Green Hill was a reform school that is now a maximum-security facility for young men ages 17-24.

That would tie Bierlink for the biggest game, if those games were exhibitions, in Washington history or third, if those games counted.

It would also mean two of the highest-scoring games ever in the state happened on the same night, as Rainier Beach’s Tyran Stokes shot – and dunked – his way to 63 against West Seattle with college scouts in the stands to watch the nation’s top recruit.

So, again, huge game – school, CWAC (almost certainly) and tied for state (possibly) record – but a tad tough to pinpoint exactly.

Bierlink’s big game was the latest of historic outings in Central Washington in 2026.

A week ago Tuesday, Prosser’s Herbie Wright smashed the school and Yakima Valley records with a 57-point outburst against Toppenish. Wright and Bierlink are the reigning scoring champs in the CWAC and will repeat this season.

Early last month. Mabton’s Armando Chavez scored a Yakima Valley record 60 points, topping the record set in 2018 by Kittitas’ Brock Ravet, the state’s all-time leading scorer.
