Reigning Class 4A Player of the Year Cheyenne Hull continues to rake in the awards.

The two-time CBBN Player of the Year and top junior in the state was named the VarsityWA 4A tournament MVP after helping top-seeded Davis to a successful defense of its state championship Saturday.

Hull averaged 17.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals at state for the Pirates, who again handled Sumner in the championship game, 62-51.

The 6-foot guard totaled 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists against the Spartans in the title contest.

Fellow Davis junior Isa Garcia was a first-team all-tournament selection, after averaging 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists during the Pirates’ three games in the Tacoma Dome.

The 5-foot-8 sharpshooter scored 24 points in the Thursday quarterfinal against Lake Stevens and 20 in the championship game.

Davis, which finished the season 24-2 and was unbeaten against in-state opponents, figures to again be at or very close to the top of next season’s poll.

Eastern Washington-signee and second-team all-CBBN selection Deets Parrish and key reserve Ella Craig were the only seniors for the Pirates, who have been unbeaten in conference play three straight seasons.
