Left-handed  quarterback Kellen Moore, who rewrote the Washington high passing record book before becoming an All-American and  Heisman Trophy finalist at Boise State, will be immortalized outside  Albertsons Stadium, the home of the Broncos.

An 11-foot bronze statue of the QB who is preparing for his second year as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints will be installed during the 2026 season. No date has been announced, but if the plan is to have Moore in attendance, the Saints’ bye week coincides with the Broncos’ home game against Texas State on Halloween night.

"Kellen Moore represents what it means to be a Bronco," Boise State athletic director Jeramiah Dickey said in a release from the school. "His leadership, humility, competitiveness, and commitment to excellence helped define an era of Bronco football that inspired fans across the country. This statue will forever celebrate his impact on our program and help tell the story of Boise State football to the thousands who visit Albertsons Stadium and The Blue every year."

After bigger schools didn’t heavily recruit Moore, he went to Boise State where he would continue the Broncos’ push onto a national stage.

Moore was 50-3 as a four-year starter at BSU, and finished in the top 10 of voting for the Heisman Trophy, including a fourth-place finish his junior season in 2010. He traveled to New York as one of the finalists for the trophy, which was won by Cam Newton of Auburn.He finished his career with 14,667 passing yards with 142 touchdowns against 28 interceptions. He completed nearly 70% of his passes and had a 169.0 rating.

Before Boise State, Moore set several state records while leading the Mustangs’ pass-happy offense for his father and coach Tom Moore.

His  173 career passing touchdowns and 4,600 passing yards during the 2006  season still remain Washington state records. The 67 TDs he tossed during his junior season remained a record until Moses Lake’s  Brady Jay broke the record this fall with 72.

Moore’s 11,367 career passing yards was the second best in state history when he wrapped up his prep career, and still sits fifth all time.

Tom and Kellen Moore were inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame in May.

Kirby Moore, Kellen’s younger brother and one of his top targets for two seasons at Prosser, followed his brother to Boise State, and also became a coach.

In December, he was named the head coach at Washington State.
